Hi, I’m Zena (pronounced ‘Zey-na’). My passion for food led me to graduate from culinary school in 2017 and earn a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from California State University, Northridge. I later completed my Master’s in Nutrition from Arizona State University after working in hospitals and community programs as a registered dietitian, gaining first hand experience in helping people improve their health. Inspired by loved ones dealing with cancer, diabetes, obesity, and high blood pressure—I believe in balancing great food with its health benefits, as Hippocrates said, ‘Let food be thy medicine.’
I have been practicing yoga since I was in high school because it felt good for my body. In April of 2024, I was diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis, a type of inflammatory arthritis that primarily affects the spine, causing pain, stiffness and fusion. This deepened my love and admiration for the practice as preventative care. Taking the time to train in Chiang Mai, Thailand, and Bali, Indonesia, I received a 500-hour yoga teacher certification.
All this led me to create and open ZN.Health, driven by a desire to spread the truth about nutrition and open my own practice. It’s a place where you can learn and grow independently with a strong community behind you. In any avenue you need help, there are people who are here for you. I want to bring these people together for the greater good of the community so we can reclaim our health and our lives—physically, mentally, and spiritually.
I’ll hold you accountable on this journey and cheer you on every step of the way, guiding you in finding the people, using the tools, and whatever you need to reach for the unimaginable.
